Start of the New Season

Well the new season is in full swing and its been a pretty good start! I've played 3 nights already out of 5 at St Mary's and 1 night at another club and some good games going on! Played gents doubles at the Bonanza on Sunday and did 11 hours of badminton including some coaching that day...! Safe to say i was agony on the Monday morning not to mention really tired, and having to work at 7 and doing some heavy lifting really didn't help. Despite all that getting all these games early certainly does help. Need all the good games and training in early before we start the match season at the club seeing as we are now in the first division. All day Monday was spent groaning about how sore i was and how i had no strength to lift any tool boxes! or even walk for that matter!!
The pain continued into Tuesday and i really wasn't having a good day. Not sure if i was still feeling the effects of Sunday and thats why i wasn't hitting well or the new strings I've got really are rubbish!
Well a day and a bit to rest and get on the foam roller and hopefully feel better for playing on Thursday and we shall see how well that goes. Been a pretty busy couple of weeks compared to other years, but i am loving it. Got our fixtures for this year, got captain of another mixed team for another club and also got my first match this season next week for a 3rd club. It's fantastic being able to get so many different games, in a way all these other games and matches compensates for have as many proper training sessions during the year. It also gets me experience playing different types and level of player so i can learn to adapt my game, also a good experience playing with different players with different styles.
Also great to meet so many new people within the sport and in the last year i have met so many new people and gained some valuable experience that will help me in the sport. Also by meeting all these new people all of them different some whom have different involvements within the sports all help create different sort of opportunities that will benefit me and help me towards my goals. For young ones who is serious about the sport, it is definitely worth getting around and playing different places!
